Timber Tools Software
Timber Tools is designed to meet the needs of people who want to measure timber for the purposes of buying, selling or valuation. This product offers user-friendly features and an innovative approach calculating timber volumes at a truly affordable price
Dr. Steven Bick used input from participants at over 50 timber cruising workshops in Timber Tools' design. This group included loggers, procurement foresters, consulting foresters, landowners, realtors, and public agency foresters. The result is an easy-to-use web page like interface that gets you information you can understand and use.
Timber Tools installs like a
stand-alone program in Windows 95, 98, NT or XP, but requires Microsoft Excel
(version 97 or higher). The
user-friendly interface makes data entry a snap. Choose from straightforward calculations of
total volume by species or point sampling calculations of species volume per acre. Click on a region and then a species and you
are ready to enter your field tally.
Volumes are updated automatically in Doyle, Scribner, and International
rules all at once. Special worksheets
for spruce and fir timber give volumes in International and
Unlike some of the more expensive timber cruising programs, Timber Tools allows data entry in one inch DBH intervals for ten different form classes. We've expanded on conventional tree heights (1, 1-1/2, 2, 2-1/2 etc.) to include volumes for new tree heights you won't find anywhere else - 1/2, 3/4, 1-1/4, & 1-3/4 logs.
